I am thinking about putting up some of my favorite ninjams for public consumption, and I thought I'd go big with a site like last.fm or Jamendo, maybe.
But, I don't want to violate either the Creative Commons license from Ninbot, nor the licensing requirements on those sites.
Can anyone offer some info about this? I seem to remember seeing a link to the CC licence text here on Ninbot, but I can't find it, maybe I just imagined I saw it?
I would think that as long as I wasn't selling tracks on these sites, I would be OK in posting them. I realize that Jamendo allows listeners to give donations to musicians, but I thought that since any of us Ninjamers could post these tracks, that wouldn't be violating any rights to the music. And also, the donations aren't actual purchases of music, just gifts to an artist. Please correct me if you think I'm wrong. Not that I'm expecting any significant donations, mind you, but who knows...
Also, I know I could go to less regulated sites like Soundcloud, or even The Internet Archive, but at the moment someting is pushing me towards the more slick sites. (That's rare for me.) Also, Soundcloud only allows 120 minutes of free uploads, and I'd fill that with my first five jams! The Internet Archive might be my last resort, seeing as how it is very free with upload limits and regulations of music rights, but it's such a geeky, clunky interface, I'm afraid the music would be lost forever, just, archived on the Internet sort of... ;)
I look forward to anyone's experienced or knowledgeable replies. Thanks.
