Ninjam Player - Android

Update ...

New update NinjamPlayer (Android) ..

* Added Ninjamer Servers
* Added User Online List

I won't be able to implement the chat feature for quite a while because of other projects. The update will be active as soon as Google has finished processing the update. Those who have the software installed should receive the notification to upgrade.

........................

I've created an Android application so you can listen to the live Ninbot server feed. The software is very basic at the moment, including only the Ninbot servers. The next version will include the Ninjammer servers and a list of who's online. You can switch your screen off on your device and the media will still play conserving battery life.

maybe it's now the time to move to android......just to get this one...thx gaz. I'm stuck with wm6.1 lol

Thanks Jon, Android phones

Thanks Jon,

Android phones are real good value, and you won't need a powerful Android to run the Ninjam Player; and never will, it will always support Android OS Ver 2.2 onwards.

I not got an android phone

I not got an android phone but I played with the pc android emulator, as some tv boxes use android now and I was exploring it first.
I gotta say I wish there was a proper Android OS, I could see it being so much more popular than Windows.

If anyone has virtual box or similar then try this, http://www.android-x86.org
Here's the download pages, there's normal iso but also a USB version where you can boot it from a usb mem card or stick. http://android-x86.moonman.dk/index.php?folder=Z2VuZXJpYw==

Ya find setup guides and how to's here: http://www.android-x86.org/documents

IMPORTANT: You want to run Android without installing, installing any os can wipe over current os installations and drives.

To run in virtualbox, which is a program that runs in your current Operating System but allows other OS's to be run in a window.
http://www.android-x86.org/documents/virtualboxhowto

To use USB ya have to use a little tool that preps and puts the usb iso on the mem card/stick etc then it's bootable or it won't boot. I gotta shoot off out now and can't remember the name of it so I'll put the link up later for it.

To do a usb bootable device with the usb img file you need a live usb software. This one is probably a nicer gui but google for them there are a lot around. http://www.linuxliveusb.com

It is also a good idea if ya got old usb mem cards lying around to get the r.i.p. linux build and kaspersky rescue disc 10. Then you can use the live usb tools to make them bootable from sd cards, meaning you can repair, fix errors and clean rootkits spyware viruses etc with out entering the os. This is important as whilst the os is running some errors can't be fixed, some files can't be cleaned and rootkits can't really be cleaner proper either.
R.I.P is a repair kit, a bundle of software which loads a minimal Linux then gives you a windows type environment with tools to help repair hd's, and it also handles a lot of File Systems from drives from say nas devices, tv recorder boxes and so on.
Kaspasky Rescue Disc 10 is a FREE Virus Scanner and remover, and to properly remove viruses it's best not to be within windows, as files infected can be in use, or rootkits could be hiding behind in use system files.
A root kit works by taking over system files so they can do things like hide running processes, give false information to software whilst still happily running in the background infecting your machine more and more.

Kaspersky Rescue Disc 10 setup info and software: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208286083
R.I.P. Linux Live Disc: http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/

Just a quick explanation of the LIVE CD, this means you don't have to install nothing and it will run from the USB card/stick or Boot from a CD.

Thanks for this great little

Thanks for this great little app, Gaz! Looking forward to the next version, names of users and chat would definively be a great enhancement. Please keep us posted of future releases!

Hopefully sometime in 2013.

Any chance the 'live

Any chance the 'live player/chat' can be made so it doesn't need normally blocked ports? I dunno what protocols your using for these but they don't work for anyone with an IT Dept.

Cheers
Deeds.

I would guess it would

I would guess it would depend on the IT dept.
In the most extreme case I suppose only
http port 80 might be open. Will keep this in mind.
I suppose your IT dept probably
blocks ninjam ports too?

Yeah, can't play at work.

Yeah, can't play at work. Would be great to listen/chat though..

Thanks Tom.
