updating....
macs users around?

hi, i've become a mac user this week,but not expert yet with the new system(lol)......
i've downoaded a few things from here and there, no problems,but when trying to download a ninjam jam from the player,the way i used to do in pc,thats clicking "share" and "save mp3"...,what happens now instead of firefox downloading the file, isquicktime player opening full screen and playing the jam, with no further way of save it to my hard disk...at least that i can figure out

You need to tell Firefox not
You need to tell Firefox not to let Quicktime get hold of it. (It does something similar in Linux if you don't configure it right. Unfortunately I've forgotten exactly how - Tools->Applications maybe?)

Then I realised you have got one of them Pear Computers.
I'm not a Mac user but, you could try this, let the quicktime do it's thing but then on firefox then goto FILE then Save As, I guess it still haves the options there somewhere. Then it should save it, rest would be maccy stuff again.
As for changing file associations on a Pear Mac, try this link:

hey thanks pljones! you were damn right! im downloading now,in fact is the very 1st sound file i was trying to download, so thats why didnt noticed before with any other downloads...another thing sorted out ...now im wondering why my beloved MOBIUS vst, also in au form, doesnt want to work into reaper...damn ;)
