Lack of Syncronização of REAPER with the Ninja
Obrigado.Roberto.

Hello everyone.
I would like a help of the software REAPER.
I noticed that when trying to synchronize the time with the metronome metronome REAPER Ninja they are independent, even if they are in the same BPM.With that, I realized that when I use a drum-type sequences in the REX software REAPER, this is out of sync with the metronome software Ninjas. Does anyone know how can I fix this?
Thank you. Roberto.

I think the bottom line is that it's a bit of "click it and hope for the best"... I remember AndyMC saying something similar somewhere, but I couldn't find it...
I was also discussing with
I was also discussing with Mr Jonze recently if syncing with the BPM particularly mattered, or if you would do fine just syncing to the BPI and turning the metronome off. I think 3mph puts it more elegantly here:

Not sure what to make of that idea, though...

...But how do you play with people, for people. Playing fast around the drums is one thing. But to play with people for others, to listen to, that's something else. That's a whole other world. -- Tony Williams

I occasionally use the loop method that miklogik describes on his web page(*), but instead of stopping/rewinding/starting on every attempt, which I find to be too cumbersome, I repeatedly press the keyboard shortcut W to restart the loop playing in Reaper until:
- the two metronome clicks (the NINJAM one and Reaper's own one) are sufficiently in sync and
- beat 1 of the loop in Reaper matches with beat 1 of the NINJAM interval.

few times i've used to put
few times i've used to put loops they synced so easily with ninjam click...always i set up reaper to same bpm
what i do is making a selection of the whole loop(that must fit in bpm with reaper setting) and select as you would guess, cycle play in reaper transport bar

I tried using the shortcut W and this seems to be the most appropriate method and less stressful. In my next Jam will use it.

How milko explains it is how
How milko explains it is how I do it but I use cubase, there is a preroll delay on the start so I have to start the beat a jump or half beat before it beeps bpi 1.
On Cubase the keys are default mapped to 1 < start of loop or last selected start point, then 0 stops, then enter starts.
So I press 1, enter, then 0, then 1 then enter then 0 untill I'm making a rythem from the keys of the cubase Metronome.
I have Cubase Metronome set to another output on the asio, which I hear but doesn't route through to ReaNINJAM.
This way I can sync and no one hears the metronome of Cubase.
I also use a looped range in Cubase like milko shows in REAPER, then I just setup vsti's and tracks on the fly, then just play and record within the looped area.
If something causes the sync to fall out, which happens for me a bit on Windows 7, then using above method I can resync quickly, but this can make it sound like a premade song is being started but its just where I have recorded a few tracks before to what others are playing but having to resync makes it sound like something pre recorded is being started.
I only mention this because more people are starting to loop a range adn record in realtime, sometims its not needed some times it is but others entering a server may think people are just playing songs they made before.
But this doesn't have to be used to layer many tracks, it can also be setup so people can record there part, then on a 2nd copy of a track in REAPER they could record there next part, this woudlnt be heard by other Jammers.
So whilst your last peice was playing you could be jamming and playing your next peice, which makes for nice smooth less errorful jams which in turn are better for live perofrmances.
On NINJAM's forum there should be some info I already put up on setting up monitor tracks which could be used to record, then the recording could be moved to live tracks, or copies of live tracks could be made and the recordings thrown onto them, then solo'd in or merged or cut in.
Brennan has a possible update to ReaNINJAM due in the near or not too distant future, maybe he will have implemented some sort of syncing of REAPER met. But on http;//NINJAM.com in the downloads for the PC there is an Adaption of NINJAM which has midi timecode output but its older timecode, so not all app's support it, Cubase doesn't. But for me I prefer manually doing it, else it would seem too automated and then add some appregios and preset drums and we will be enter servers to play with peoples vsti presets which isn't fun for me.
I do use preset drum loops sometimes but I will mess with them all the time, but sometimes I'll just record some drums on keys or layer each part of the drums, like hats, kick snare then tom and cymbals.
This allows for changes to be made to change with what people are playing but it's always better having a real drummer with say a fat kick running along side them.

Hello AndyMC. I appreciate your responses and suggestions.
From what you wrote, to see that the synchronization between the Ninja is a software DAW, whether or Nuendo Reaper is very important, even if it is used so sporadically by musicians. In my case, usually by creating a song, I use several VSTI synchronized to enable a specific rate or an effect of modulation to create a new musical environment.
My concern in pursuing this synchronization (Reaper - Reaninjam) has to do with the fall of my connection to the server NINBOT every time the channel to be filled with various musicians. With this, if you are writing, every time I return to the channel, there is a lack of synchronization. Generating a musical disharmony. To solve this, I have to restart the entire synchronization process interrupting the musical production. Therefore my interest in sync with REAPER REANINJAM steadily.
Finally I would like to know who BRENNAN, who has an update ReaNINJAM?
If you use Nuendo then with
If you use Nuendo then with practice using the numpad, 1, 0 and enter buttons you can re-sync pretty quickly after disconnects.
Brennan you will find over on http://www.ninjam.com/forum.php
He has suggested in previous posts that updates could be coming soon.
