ImprovFriday FREE Album - AndyMc 2011
Submitted by AndyMc on Tue, 02/21/2012 - 23:13.
Hiya, this is my latest ImprovFriday.com Album from 2011, it's free so you can download if you like.
I wasn't sure if to post here or in Jams forum but here seemed more fitting as it's not jams.
It contains a track made too show my Respect for the late Richard Lainhart, a great Electronics/Ambient/Experimental Musician, his Live Shows were legendary.
It's on soundcloud but hopefully Tom can make it work in this page.

I'd appreciate any comments you want to leave on any tracks, good or bad.
The embed code is in the audio field Tom.

Congrats Andy, what fun ! Will have a listen soon.
Sounds great, you can really
Sounds great, you can really hear all the hours it must have taken in the final result. Were these tracks you made for ImprovFriday or tracks made with material from ImprovFriday (i.e. other musicians as well as yourself)?
Hiya, thanks for the
Hiya, thanks for the comments so far.
Yes Anonymouse, these are tracks I made for Improvfriday, I do do some mashes or mixes using others stuff sometimes, but none of these contain stuff from others. I'm slowly collecting tracks where I mashed in other or created around them and there be on there own album.
It's hard to know how to name it on the album, I wanted to give credits to ImprovFriday but tried not to make it too much about me. I think the album name probs is best way to show IF and that these are my IF tracks but I did wanted to call it something better.
I don't do many collabs atm, just when I can get one in now and then so only got a few collab tracks.
I love the way Ecronet (Roger) mashes though, some of his are similar to some of mine but his are mashed with others stuff too. In 2010 I was getting a lot done and had more time but 2011 most the tracks were done in bunches when I had time, so I did say 2 or 3 together then nothing for a while, but I did more mix/mashes in 2011, some of the IF's were made in NINBOT too using some other jammers live.
I keep all names though for later crediting when I get that done.
Slowly making this album into a video album at the mo, could just wack the cover as a pic or milk drops but want to give it just a little more creativity and less automation.
Pete (Unfretted) gave me a vid to make into something over a year ago, it's still there in the dir waiting to be done. I was hoping to use it for IF's film festival but don't think I will get other stuff finish in time, but hopefully I will Pete. :)
Thank you again for your comments Jon, Pete and Anony, keep them coming whether good or bad.
PS: Thanks Tom for sorting that. :)
Your album sounds great
Your album sounds great Andy, full of Images ! Don't you worry about the video, I had totally forgotten...

I can't edit it now but I thought I'd put the ImprovFriday link there but I haven't.
So here it is:

Well I've made 2 videos for the first 2 tracks, just encoding them now then I'll put them up on youtube.
I was gonna do all of them and put as one video but I'll do both, seperate and 1 complete else it might be a while to get them all finished.
It's more waiting to encode previews of complex fx chains, unless ya have a fx to do something specific it's a case of using a few fx to achieve the same thing and a few vids overlaid this gets a bit slow going.
Tom if I post the vids in this page too could you embed them up top with the player?
Great eletronica sound and
Great eletronica sound and production Andy, congrats! Really digged the piano piece, the last track. Keep it up!

Oh that's cool Tom, we could have a sticky thread now named somit like Members Showcase 2012. where people could post there stuff. then you could show the stuff on the main page.
It's definitely better looking with users video's on the front page and it takes some time doing this stuff so it's cool to allow them to show it off some.
I think the front page and a thread is better for user content, it shows more about what were all about.
Encourages visitors to become more involved.
I think that's what so many like about ImprovFriday.com is you join, make something you feel is worthy then post it, it thn gets put up on the main page for all others to see, listen too and download and mash into something of their own. But credits are giving and people can say if they don't want something mashed.
It's like collaboration but on everyone's terms, so who ever mashes or creates decides how they want to do it, when they want to do it and what pace they want to do it at.
But it does have to follow the ambient, classical and experimental genre.
It would be nice seeing also on front page like latest tracks, events and stuff people do too, and it saying somewhere that so people know what there seeing who might not be as regular.
There's an awful lot of better mixers done of jams, videos made or starred in by ninjamers, and their own tracks. Pete (The Next) find sa lot of it and relays it on here.
But I think if there was an area right in ya face when ya hit the site where everyones works could be shown, good or bad then I think more would post to it.
There is an awful lot of stuff beening done by ninjamers and most ninjamers come here but never know or seen it.
A lot of it is on Facebook, Youtube, Myspace, Reverbnation, Twitter, Bandcamp, Soundcloud and a few more, but I think people don't post here because unless there's a video for it where would it be posted?
I post in the forum but it does feel when I am, that because there isn't an area for it that I'm sorta spamming people with it, or maybe look like I'm saying look what I done and I'm not.
I posted this mainly to show more the other side people don't see.
I think Pete (the Next) would probs have posted a lot of the audio stuff had there been an area.
Maybe in the main forum, this one we could have a stick for each year, then the old years can be in a stick called somit like Members Showcase Archive, and the main sticky called Members Showcase 2012. Then a description can explain it's members latest works.
Ya would have to like enable embed codes for Youtube, Soundcloud, Reverbnation, also loads use dropbox so would be nice if a dropbox mp3 link was seen that NINBOT player picked it up, maybe like yahoo player where it makes a playlist of the mp3 links on the page, i think it does it also with video now too but I'm not suggesting NINBOT player should.
This will in turn encourage more people to do stuff mainly for NINBOT, after a while people will hear great and not as great stuff and will start feeling comfortable submitting stuff.
I think it would make more convergence of people in collab stuff too and give them somewhere to talk about it and also allow others to become part of its creation in ways of seeing it all unfold and getting to see the end product, more will probs help push things if they are seeing it grow.
We all realise that NINJAM isn't just a place to jam now, that it's a place of learning and building.
So many things have come from NINJAM that aren't being seen atm so some might think not much happens, apart from the od Post Pete E. (the Next) posts, of what he finds, and the other stuff some regulars are posting now, and I think this could be from them now seeing others works around the net.
Damned, BK and others have stuff they do or done, even if old it would be great seeing some of it here.
I think I'd actually start sampling in some of my old audio cassettes too, I started but wasn't really anywhere to post that stuff.
Have a think about it Tom, if ya want any help in anything in sorting it to spread the work load then just say.
BTW I love black, I always done my sites black like this but the reason google, facebook and most others are light coloured pages is because black gives a feeling of empty, peaceful, lonely. When making a black site it feels jazzy, trendy but you will always find most sites with a lot of buzz are light coloured, like soft colours, then the info on the page stands out more.
Maybe have a vote on here what's peoples favourite looking and used sites, then pick up some tips from them.
But to give an example, Facebook is easy to look at, straight there and seeing new stuff, BUT now there converting peoples pages to the ne Timeline look, it's a lot nicer looking but no one likes it, most HATE it, its jumbled, too poster looking and stuff. It would have been nice just them de-cluttering things and allow 1 item to be highlighted on a users page but there forcing through the Timeline. But then also EU and USA are now slowly forcing through the fact they will not let Facebook take and sell peoples info and also with the tracking of peoples this could stop soon too. They make enough from advertising so they don't need to try steal peoples info, if they persist you could soon see people flock from these sites. Google is also included in these activities, they got no right selling our info to dam spam us companies, as that's pretty much pishing us.
Also Google page got so used because it was very simple looking and person inputs generated the outcome so it allows people to self teach themselves quickly on a site.
So it could be a good time to open up NINBOT a little to more things and more people.
Testing Soundcloud
Testing Soundcloud detection, this is what I made my soundcloud account for years ago. Neimad and he called me kept calling me Gandi lol, so I made a quick loop and sent him the link.

Tom I posted the soundcloud html5 iframe code and object code there, 1 is iframe and 2 is object.
I started this today, but I got carried away with getting a good mastered setup with out using stuff that causes latency when playing live.
Plus I dropped a pack of Quavers on it. :)

Cool it's working now, the object code of soundcloud isn't working but the iframe one is which is tbe better and newer code anyway.
So f anyone posts an Soundcloud tick to use HTML5 when in share options of a soundcloud.
Hears the latest thing I'm working on which I posted above, untitled electronic thing.
I am always surprised at
I am always surprised at SoundCloud's (lack of) volume control within its widgets... I remember too spending 5 min on the actual SoundCloud site desperately trying to locate the volume control only to find it tucked up in the top nav. I think I saw from Andy's other ImprovFriday Album post that bandcamp also doesn't have a volume control in their embedded widget...?
I'm in the other one
I'm in the other one Anonymouse but I never created it, Kavin Allison did, but yeah wierd it not got a volume. Wonder if it has to be enabled in the embed code, ill look tomoz.
I wanna put a few on there if I can, only cos its simple layout and lets ya use a album pic too.
This is the Re-Release of
This is the Re-Release of the First ImprovFriday Album I did from 2010, this one has been levelled better as a few tracks were low. This is a FREE album too, I prefer this more than the 2011 one, plus its got 18 tracks on this one.
This will stream lesser quality, free download is in many formats including wav.

Admittedly this thread is looking a bit of a mess but once everything is working it will be tidier.
