Don't denigrate the metronome!...as Music is not only 'sounds' but 'times' too!

Many ninjamers just don't care about metronome or times....why?

Everyone relying on a same and unique bpm and bpi allows us to synchronize (which is Ninjam 's Aim #1, right ?)
and create stable, coherent artwork!

Bpi is also important : e.g You could never perform a decent blues grid if bpi's not been adjusted for it !
( e.g. 12 bar-blues = bpi 48)

And please , when you come in a 6/8 jam, don't send or play 4/4 rythms

Thanks for reading ;)

Last time I tried playing 7/8, everyone ran away! :)

(Maybe my playing was just too bad..?)

...But how do you play with people, for people. Playing fast around the drums is one thing. But to play with people for others, to listen to, that's something else. That's a whole other world. -- Tony Williams

I do care!

I admit my skills does not allow me to be always in sync. I am currently practicing to improve it.

However, I think I could not even recognize a 6/8 signature lol Sorry if I messed one jam with 6/8 signature.

Explanations on the rhythms.
Hi Gerald, you are right on your comment.
* In music, the most important element, is not the melody but the rhythm.
* Without rhythmic placement, no music will make cross some emotion.
I always try to make change the BPI and the BPM to make turn my patterns. But it is not evident, some do not understand and votes are missing to change the setting. At the end of moment I change lounge to be able to adapt only the setting, then ninjammers comes on a setup which is convenient for my frenzy.
To be constructive I give you the link of a video which explains signatures rhythmic with songs which you know.
Lothar will be satisfied to look at it. It is in French.

Saddened for anglophobes, you can look at the explained figures and count beat on music broadcast. (1st example "Money" from Pink Floyd, there are 7 beats by bar. Count!7/4)
have fun,@+

Agree! Thanx you Bilos! This

Agree! Thanx you Bilos! This is definitely useful for me and give me motivation to practice all those rhythms :-)

I agree with gerald. I takes

I agree with gerald.
I takes some 'seasoning' to get used to ninjam though.
When you find the jam is just snowballing around and nothing is happening because people are listening for someone to start something, thens play something repetitively and someone will follow.

It can also be that 2 people

It can also be that 2 people log in to a room and press each others solo buttons, to cut out others. As the room fill up they are unaware of what is going on, and there will be chaos.

Overexcited playing, ignorance and not knowing enough is more likely the problem...

If you would like to play freer, join us in the Experimental Group.

you can use either the rigid

you can use either the rigid or the flexable way with ninjam, yes ,ninjam can be used without any click only needing a not much short bpi to get things flowing musically, letting others interact with enough playing lenght from you,a kind of pattern is going to be generated after a few turns, it all depends of how sensitive and how deep ppl listen to each others ,never will work with the type of player who throws his riffs or grooves no matter whats sounding from the other channels.of course you cant expect to play rigid standard things like funk, rock, even jazz stuff with much success, but you can efectively play free improvisated stuff this way
wanted to point this out because i think we all have a inner pulse that needs to be incentivated, instead of following the damn ninjam click (just exagerating and joking,as me myself like to play with the click sometimes, even diggin free improvisation,i love to groove damnly square too from time to time!) :-)

...but gerald got reason in this : dont ruin anything thats already running,at least meaning to :))
