Impressive, Inspiring, Awesome

Those are just three of the words used by
the audience and other musicians at last
night's Garage Sounds #1.

Although there was a bit of a struggle to
get all the levels right a good time was
had by all.

Everyone was delighted with not only what
they heard as excellent musicianship and
inspired live composition, but also with
the community and possibilities for future
collaborations.

Well done NINJAMMERS!

you guys are some of my faves for sure.
I had a lot of fun, and I am grateful to
have you to play with.

Until next time...rock on!

that's the inimitable Thrak

that's the inimitable Thrak on (I believe) his v-drums.
Plus I think he has a nice soundcard. I'll ask him to
post the details of his rig here.

We had Amar on keyboards, Chris Cohn on keys and guitar,
Ray and Scott switching off on bass and guitar. At the
end Lani was singing.

The audio interface for everyone he was a MOTU 828 (original).
I was singing and triggering synths with my voice. And was
annoyed with DBkick, who was not playing much and Grizzly69
was sitting in the lounge waiting for a spot.

Many thanks to Daev and Lynn for hosting these sessions. There
will be another next month I think. And as I mentioned before
we're thinking about morning shows as a way to include those
overseas and push the boundaries of what we think we're doing.

I'll post a couple of pictures of the whole Garage Sounds group soon.

Thanks for the nice

Thanks for the nice comments. It was fun, although I have to admit to being dang tired having been up late late the night before at a gig.

My drums are a slightly expanded set of Roland TDW-20 V-Drums with the TDW-20 expansion card which adds more sounds and kits. I don't use anything special for audio interface, just a Creative X-Fi gamer card.

That's the best sounding

That's the best sounding Roland playing I've heard -- previously, I've never heard any dynamics when people play Roland vdrums, either in the Roland demos or on NINJAM. I'm impressed and I'll have to adjust my entire belief system! :)

Oh, and is Thrak here Thrak there?

Thanks. Dynamics certainly

Thanks. Dynamics certainly are possible, although an acoustic kit does have a wider range.

> Oh, and is Thrak here Thrak there?
Yes, that's me too.
