King Crimson - Tree of a Perfect Pear : Live in Japan

Thx for the post, I'll watch that later :) .. I stopped watching MTV a long time ago.

Back when this album came

Back when this album came out I guessed I was probably the only teenage weirdo in Albany, NY to buy the cassette and listen to it on my Walkman. I remember initially having read in Modern Drummer magazine about Bill Bruford's use of Simmons electronic drums and also the bands use of Roland guitar synths, along with Tony Levin's Chapman Stick playing.

This concert as I vaguely recall was actually shown on MTV's Saturday night concert series, which is hard to imagine today. The same people who nowadays typically show non-musician, drum machine button pressing, rappers and melodramatic female singer divas, once featured King Crimson performing the strangely beautiful freakout song about an old junkyard car "Dig me" 'but don't... bury me' etc.
