Jamming with people over the Internet... that sounds like fun...
I think its cool that with a
I think its cool that with a 2 person
session, you can be delayed by 2 seconds
and it only sounds bad to one person.

You could have any number of guitarists and it would still only sound bad to the drummer... (delay or not ;p).

...But how do you play with people, for people. Playing fast around the drums is one thing. But to play with people for others, to listen to, that's something else. That's a whole other world. -- Tony Williams

Are they jamming though, or just repeating someone else's work...

huge bandwith requirements for those toys guys, im warning
i can jam with 6 ppl with a 3/4 mbs down speed and only 0'25 up speed(thats the s***y connection we have here)!!...where? at ninjam of course :))
anyway, that seems to be a nice step in the right direction, that is to put ppl in connection thru real time musical interaction

So basically this is for people with fiber or better.
But this system doesn't utilize any BPI system - i.e. no buffered audio? It's strictly "live" audio between players? (As long as they have 1000 kbps up!) That's a plus. But it does limit you from the global perspective.
You can find out how far you
You can find out how far you can go with http://www.pingtest.net/ ...
Remember to double the ping time.
Remember to add on your system audio latency times 2.
Remember to add on your playing partner's ping time and system audio latency times 2.
(If you're in London and they're in London, you want to use ping test to a London server. Otherwise, pick a server in one of your locations and both ping test to that. You could ping test each other directly of course -- then you'd only each count the time once.)
And if all that comes within tolerable limits, you're set to go!
